Fred Scarf met Shiri Gumbiner in high school in 2004. They quickly become good friends and were often said to be "attached at the hip."
Shiri was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, which is a rare form of bone cancer. After a long battle, she passed away at the age of 16 on August 18, 2005.
Fred was the first speaker at the funeral and knew he had to do something.
One of the most painful things for Fred was the fact that life went on without Shiri. He never wanted her spirit to leave this world and wanted to find a way to have that spirit live forever.
Fred started the process of creating a 501(c)3, No Worries Now, a month after Shiri's passing.
