What is the purpose of the prom?
The purpose of the prom is to have fun. If you have been affected by a life-threatening illness, your high school career has not been the same as most teens. The prom gives you an opportunity to connect with new people, dance, have fun, and just enjoy yourself.
What time is the prom? What are the hours?
It is from 7-11:00 pm.
Will dinner be provided?
Yes.
for parents:
What happens if there is an emergency?
We will be having a pediatrician on site who will assist you.
Where is the closest hospital to the 2010 Prom?
The closest hospital is Brotman Medical Center, which is half a mile away from the prom.
Where is parking?
We have 100 spaces reserved right next to the venue. These spaces will be reserved for patients who would have difficulty walking. The parking lot across the street will be open, too.
What if my child has special needs or a special circumstance?
There is a space on the RSVP that asks this. Please tell us the circumstance and we will accommodate your child’s needs.
for attendees
I don’t think I qualify as an attendee. How do I know if I do?
If you are a hematology and oncology patient, survivor, or sibling, you do qualify. This prom is for young adults between the ages of 13-19, but if you are a little older or younger, you are still welcome.
What will happen when I come?
The prom will start at 7pm-11:00pm. We are planning to have dinner and dessert, dancing, a caricature throughout the night, a magic show.
I’m shy when I meet new people. Can I bring a friend? A family member?
Yes. If you are a patient, you are allowed to bring a friend of a family member. The purpose of the event is for you to be comfortable and have fun. So why not bring the people who inspire those feelings?
What if I don’t have prom clothes?
This should not discourage you from coming to our prom. While we encourage all attendees to wear prom apparel, it isn’t the purpose of the night. We have had attendees who did not come in prom apparel and enjoyed the night.
How much is a prom ticket?
This prom is free for everyone. No Worries Now does not want to put any burdens on attendees, volunteers, families, or hospitals.
I attend the NWN prom if I've already attended a past NWN prom or my prom?
Yes!
